Church of St. Tamar the Confessor

The Church of Saint Tamar the Confessor was built between 2023 and 2025.

Saint Tamar the Confessor, in the world Tamar Marjanishvili (1868–1936), was the sister of Kote Marjanishvili. She entered the Bodbe Convent at a very young age and was tonsured as a nun. From 1902 to 1907, she served as the abbess of the convent before being transferred to Russia to lead another monastery.

She endured persecution and much suffering under the communist regime and was exiled to Siberia. In the final years of her life, she lived near Moscow. Her holy relics rest at the Seraphim-Znamensky Skete, which she herself had founded. A portion of her relics is preserved at the Bodbe Convent.
