Grave of Abbess Nino

In 1924, the communists closed the monastery. The last abbess of Bodbe, Nino (in the world, Elene Vachnadze), despite numerous threats, did not leave the monastery, but was eventually forced to abandon Bodbe and settle in Tbilisi, near the Anchiskhati Church, where she passed away. In the 1960s, the last mother superior of Bodbe was reburied in her native monastery, according to her will. Today, her grave is located at the southern entrance of St. George's Church (as seen in the photo).
